Bann Appeal Thricvo

After debilitation the staff have decided to lift the ban on your accounts. You may request to join Avansies at anytime moving forward. Your toons will be locked to recruit until such a time is deemed necessary. Your Request for a Player Court is Denied. But anytime after 4/25 you may request a player court for your warning on harassment. No further comments are needed for this appeal.

at the time of the incident i wasn't online, nor have i been in close contact with either thric or telra. everything i know of this matter is knowledge passed on to me.

now that that's out of the way, here's my opinion:

leaving kins repeatedly or "guildhopping" does not seem to me to be a huge deal. if they were stealing from kinbank or being malicious about it, then i think those situations should be dealt with in their proper way. but just leaving the kin after finding its not what they want or etc etc isn't bad.

sending tells to officers, assis. BMs, BMs, or admins when you are attacked (and by the sound of things, unable to defend themselves bc of a certain blacklist :P) is a right that players in this community should have.

speaking of, you have a right to feel the way you want, even if you feel disappointed in alan. but hes still 1 human, running a huge community based on his own ideologies. he might make mistakes but hes trying, and making an effort to know the whole story has got to be slightly important in a leader.

I am reading this all and 1st of all, ty for the support regarding Gwaed and Fjel. Yes I got mad on that Telradan, yes I said its pathetic because from my personal believe I think you should not use people and leave kins like that and it wasn't just one kin but maybe I reacted to harsh and I should have controlled my emotions. I never had the intention to harras Telradan, I only reacted and not in a smart way. I always had the best intentions for Avansies and what hurts me the most that in my opinion there was immediately a judgement without asking me 1st but I immediately had to apologize. I made my mistakes by writing in the kinchat what happened and calling Arax a bad lead out of dissappointment and anger. Its up to you all what you decide, I know I am not a bad person but I got my principes and I will stay true to myself. And for the record, I never ever wanna play the victim, I told what I felt wich was not the smartest way but a victim, never.

I think the initial reprimand was probably just--if there's a problem, it can be taken to an officer or leader. I understand that Thric acted with the best of intentions, and he's fiercely loyal to the kinship as a whole. I think perhaps a warning was in order to not take matters into his own hands.

The part I'm having real trouble with, though, is when Thric took what should have been a "whoops, sorry, won't do it again" moment and blew it up.

Please don't mistake me. I adore Thric; he's a wonderful member, cheerful, supportive, and always ready to lend a helping hand. I consider him a friend, personally. However, I'm having a hard time reconciling the Thric I know with the accusations and lashing out. The kin as a whole needs to be a unified front, and that means talking to leaders, officers, in private. If a discussion cannot be solved there, there are other platforms, like this one. Instead, Thric took it to the main kin chat, and I cannot approve of that.

Regardless of his problems or what have you with Araxxor, I don't think this is the method that should have been used. I think that tempers flared and perhaps Thric lost his head a little. I think I'm seeing a few problems with authority here, as well.

That being said, I don't think Thric did anything here out of actual malice, and I don't particularly want to lose a valuable member of the kin.

If, perhaps, he could be reinstated as a base member after a probation or trial period, and if he agrees to watch himself a little more closely--perhaps agrees that although people have different leadership styles, it doesn't give him the right to subvert what he disagrees with--I would see no problem with that.

I have had the pleasure of talking with Arax and Gwaed on this issue; while also seeking out additional information from Telradan and Thricvo.

The items I was disappointed in have been full formulated to Thricvo - but to hold to this established process here were the items I felt were unfortunate and not becoming of a member.

• Assumption of why a player left

• Allowing the assumption to escalate - when we know he is articulate

• Escalating the item further with hyperbole in addressing leadership

What I can appreciate about Thricvo is his passion for the clan. It is my hope that with an unban he can utilize this as an example for all Avansies members and leadership and utilize this as a stepping stone forward. He is a member that I have seen contribute, also we understand that rules are rules.

Additionally I submit part of the conversation with Telradan:

Not saying what he said was false when he submitted to Arax, however, I feel that emotions were high and it became volatile. We are all people, we all make mistakes - my hope and expectation is growth from there on out. I know why Telradan left and it was not based on the assumption before hand - but to keep his counsel to me "confidential" I will say - the reason was more on the lines of conflict in personal faith items.

With full communication with Thricvo he has initiated lots of discussion and seems pretty remorseful over the situation. I would move that he gets submitted as a base member as the pretense of harassment was unwarranted due to a misaligned report. (Which I am still not happy with - but I realize kids are kids)

Hi Thrivco, So to clarify some points you were not banned for speaking to Telradan. The situation that was presented was that a player was being harassed by a member of the Avansies Gaming community. I didn't believe them at first because I did not think you were the type of person to act out in such a way. So before I did anything I asked for proof of the private conversation between your account Darfled and his account Telradan. While I was disappointed your word choice was strange and I thought it was just a miscommunication. I sent you a message to clear all of that up as we want to make sure that there wasn't a misunderstanding. The following messages you sent to him including: "I don't know what to say to your kind" "You really went to Arax p athet ic" Showed to me that this was not a miscommunication and you were indeed harassing this person on something so trivial as "Kin Hopping". As punishment I demoted you and your alt Callagos to Recruit. That would have been the end of the discussion had you not decided to take it out of private messages.

You were banned for inducing mob mentality.

Taking your frustration out by posting mass messages in the public kin chat to cause drama, you escalated the situation. Now, it was not a private issue between you and other player, but now it was an attempt on your part to play the victim to the entire kinship. Any action I took at that point would of instantly had negative effects on my work in moderating the situation. As a result this is where your warnings bans comes to: Warned for Harassment Removed for Mob Mentality Banned for Mob Mentality and Slander Your request for a Player Court for your ban is denied. However should the other staff that voice their opinions/concerns here see fit to file an unban, you may request a Player Court for the Harassment Warning.
