The ÆSL or the Avansies eSports League was designed in 2019 by developers of Avansies Gaming, Seraphim Gaming, Hirohito's Heroes with assistance from Fat English Gents (F.E.Gs). Æ (also known as ASH) stands for the first letter of the committee's names. The ÆSL's goal is to revive communities of older PC games by adding competitive brackets.
The ÆSL, hosted by Avansies Gaming is planned on working first and foremost in it's intended game, Call of Duty: World at War. With time the ÆSL hopes to expand into other games such as other Call of Duty titles and Real Time Strategy Games.
The ÆSL runs on a two tier division system, the ÆSL Premier Division and the ÆSL Civitas Division:
The ÆSL Premier Division - Consisted of the winners or top teams of the Civitas Division. The ÆSL Premier Division is the "pro" scene for the game in question. Teams are required to pay small entry fees to compete for the prize pool. The ÆSL Premier Division is made up of 10 stationary teams and 6 flowing teams that would be promoted or demoted from the ÆSL Civitas Division.
ÆSL Civitas Division - Open to all teams at all times the ÆSL Civitas Division is free to enter, free to compete in and there is no fee until you've qualified for the ÆSL Premier Division. Prizes are 1/5th the size of the Premier Division. The ÆSL Civitas Division is made up of 12 stationary teams and 4 flowing teams that would be promoted or demoted from the public play pool.
